Reception Desk/Greeter (Flight Discovery Center)Greet guests at our Flight Discovery Center, which houses the Air Zoo's Restoration Center and even more of our amazing collection of aircraft. Ensure lobby security at all times. Must possess a valid Michigan State Driver’s License.Aircraft Restoration & Maintenance VolunteerGet "hands-on" with one of the most amazing collections of aircraft and spacecraft in the world! Volunteers ensure the Air Zoo's aircraft, spacecraft, and exhibits remain in top condition for the public to enjoy. Must possess willingness to receive training in order to safely utilize approved hand-tools, and possess a thorough knowledge of their proper use on the job. Must possess a valid Michigan State Driver’s License.Data EntryVolunteers will perform data entry within various departments. Data entry and good computer skills are necessary. This position requires a minimum of a 12 month commitment for an average of 192 hours a year or an average of 16 hours per month.GreeterBe the Air Zoo's first point of contact with our guests and set the tone for fun! Volunteers will greet customers and give general information about the Air Zoo. Must be at least 17 and able to work a minimum of 12 hours a month.DocentsVolunteers in this area serve as the Air Zoo's teachers and tour guides, and have the opportunity to inspire Air Zoo guests on a daily basis! The Air Zoo's Docent Training course ensures you will have everything you need to educate guests about the Museum's collection of aircraft, spacecraft, and artifacts. Must volunteer a minimum of 12 hours each month.Summer Camp AssistantsHelp with our fantastic summer camps! Camps are every week all summer long. Be a part of this amazing experience alongside our professional educators who will share the thrill of science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics (STEAM), and aerospace science with campers through TONS of hands-on activities and interactive experiments.Educational/Camps/Scouting Days (1-3 Day Events)The Air Zoo's Educational Days inspire kids of all ages through interactive experiences, hands-on activities, and much, much more. Usually occurring on weekends, these special days focus on rotating aerospace and science themes and include a wide variety of activities. Help us make these experiences unforgettable!Demo VolunteerCome in and play with our toys. We need someone who is outgoing and energetic with a smile to play with our toys to get our visitors interested in them. Thursday-Sunday 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. |
