Community Organizing at People's Water BoardThe People’s Water Board (PWB) is a grass-roots coalition of thirty Southeast Michigan organizations (anti-poverty, social justice, environmental, conservation, faith-based) working together to protect our water from pollution, high water rates, privatization, and the denial of water and sanitation services to people unable to afford it. Founded in 2008 by the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization (MWRO), PWB works collectively with Michigan community-based groups and national coalitions to advocate for policies and programs to ensure clean and affordable water for all residents—regardless of ability to pay.
